As Americans we tend to think of ourselves as the inheritors of a Graeco-Roman-European cultural and intellectual tradition, but there is an older, and deeper influence, that gave the world a surprising number of things: from bricks to medicine and monotheism, Pharoanic Egypt had a profound impact on the ancient world. Greece, Rome, Israel and the entire Mediterranean were deeply affected by Egyptian culture and accomplishment. This presentation will preview, through dozens of photos and the accompanying lecture by Greg Roach, founder of Spirit Quest Tours, the upcoming HBU-sponsored trip to Egypt, where we will delve deeply into these influences to create an experience that is provocative, enlightening and fun. Some of the wonderful trip highlights include a specially arranged private visit inside the Great Pyramid, private entrance to the Sphinx Enclosure, and a private presentation by Dr. Zahi Hawass Egypt’s famed Inspector General of Antiquities.
